Our Teachers
At NPS we have an awesome staff who are so excited to engage with our children. Our teachers are experienced, with most of our staff having more than 10 years early childhood experience. In each of our four classrooms, at least one teacher holds an Office of Early Childhood Head Teacher Certification. All teachers are Pediatric First Aid and CPR certified. All full-time staff complete a minimum of 20 hours of professional development training, annually.
Blue Room (Infant & Toddlers)
This classroom accommodates no more than 12 children, with a 1:3 teacher-to-student ratio.
Allison (Allie)
Allie has been working with children of all ages since 2015. She has worked at both before and after school programs as well as summer camps with children in elementary school. She has also worked in a middle school Special Education program. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her 4 year old son, her family, hiking and going to the beach.
Brenda
I have been working in early childhood since 1988. I started at Northwest Children's Center until I started my own family and was a stay-at-home Mom for 18 years. After raising my two children, I went back to work doing what I love. I have classes in fine arts from MXCC. I enjoy spending time with my adult children, antique shopping, gardening, buying more house plants, and bird watching.
I find it a privilege and honor to spend my day with your children.
Jennie
Jennie joins NPS with a background in Montessori programs. She has been in the field for over ten years and is excited to learn about the history of Neighborhood Preschool . Her daughter will also b eh=joining us here so stop by and say hello!
Amy
Amy joins us with over 20 years in the field. She loves working with Infants and Toddlers and has made NPS a second home!
Yellow Room (Infant & Toddlers)

Luz
I enjoy working with small minds. I am creative and like the outdoors. I am passionate about making a difference in our children life and also love to be involved in children’s organizations or events that help out the community. “ Our children are very important, and to them we are the important ones!”
Karli
Karli comes to us with over 23 years of experience. She holds her CT Head Teachers Certificate. Karli has worked with Infants and Toddlers for most of her years and she is so excited to be part of NPS!
Orange Preschool Classroom
This classroom accommodates no more than 14 children, with a 1:7 (and oftentimes lower) teacher-to-student ratio.
Christina (Tina)
Tina has a Bachelor's degree from ECSU in sociology and criminal justice and has many years experience working with children. She also enjoys being outside, hiking, going to the beach, and loves to read. Tina joined NPS in April 2022 and is very excited for this opportunity.
Brittney
Hi, my name is Brittney! I have spent most of my life in CT and I am a devoted mother to a 15-year-old daughter. With over 15 years of experience in childcare, I have found that working as a teacher in this field to be the most rewarding aspect of my career. In the past 5 years, working in the insurance industry reaffirmed my passion for teaching. I have extensive experience working with children ranging from infants to kindergarteners.
Currently, I am pursuing a degree in psychology with an aspiration to become a school psychologist. In my free time, I cherish moments spent with my family as well as friends, particularly enjoying activities with my daughter such as going to the beach, bowling, taking exercise classes together, shopping and traveling.
Green Preschool Classroom
This classroom accommodates no more than 14 children, with a 1:7 (and oftentimes lower) teacher-to-student ratio.
Amber
Amber has worked with Preschool children for over 25 years! She holds her Masters in Education along with her CT Head Teacher Certificate.She lives in Killingworth with her teenage daughter, bunny and two cats.
Ashley
Ashley Natale is a teacher of the Green Room preschool at NPS. She has been a dedicated staff member since 2007. She graduated from Middlesex Community College with an associate’s degree in early childhood education. From there, she completed her bachelor’s at Charter Oak State College with a degree in child studies. Teaching has been her passion for many years. To her, it is rewarding to see the growth and development of the children under her care. She brings joy, creativity, and positive energy to make the experience of early childhood memorable for each student.

Emma
Emma is from Middletown originally and has always loved Wesleyan's beautiful campus and the diversity it brings to our city. When she’s not working she loves walking her dog "Kobe", cooking, baking, and visiting the beach. She loves a good movie and quiet nights playing board games with friends.
